Explosion kills five in Algeria.

On Thursday, a homemade bomb exploded killing five, and injuring three others in Eastern Algeria, in a probable terrorist attack.
The victims were in a vehicle when the bomb exploded. The explosion occured in Tebessa Province, located 573 km from the capital, Algiers. A statement by the Defense Ministry said that they managed to kill a terrorist involved in the attack.
Following an ambush in the locality of Guentis in the province of Khenchela, army troops shot dead a dangerous terrorist.

The country was in a war with armed groups of Islamists in the 1990s that killed around 200,000 people. But it is believed that Al Qaeda and Islamic State still operates in the region.
