Egypt and France carried out a joint naval exercise in the Red Sea.

Egyptian military spokesman Tamer al-Refai said on Sunday that France and Egypt carried out a joint naval exercise in the Red Sea.
Al-Refai posted on Facebook that the Egyptian frigate Segm Al Fateh and French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, which is France only nuclear powered aircraft carrier, took part in the exercise. During the exercise, an exchange of helicopter landings on helipads of each others’ vessels, close-defense tactics and other scenarios that can occur during day and night were conducted.
The joint naval drills demonstrate the commitment in positive bilateral relations between both countries. The last joint military exercise between both countries were conducted on March 8 this year in the Red Sea.
