As of Sunday, China has administered more than 65 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. In Beijing alone, 10 million doses were administered.
China was among the first countries to start administering the vaccine. Its vaccination rate has fallen behind that of Israel and United States. The country aims to administer 4 million doses a day from the current rate of a million per day, to reach the target of vaccinating 40% of the Chinese population by end of June 2021.
Tian Yulong who works with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology believes that the pace of 4 million doses a day will be reached.
