China’s second aircraft carrier, the Type 001A Shandong, which is an improved version of Liaoning China’s first aircraft carrier is believed to be damaged. Satellite images revealed that the Shangdong’s flight deck is damaged for unknown reasons. It is currently docked in a Chinese port for repairs.

The Shangdong aircraft carrier was used by China to project its naval power in the South China Sea. Not much information has been revealed regarding the damage on the flight deck of the Shangdong aircraft carrier, but one thing is known for sure, it cannot operate fighter jets and hence the carrier is currently crippled.
