A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck 15 km southwest of Hualien City, Taiwan at a shallow depth of 16km.

As is usual, The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might revised later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their report.

Towns or cities that might have felt a weak shaking include Lugu (pop. 19,600) located 74 km from the epicenter, Zhongxing New Village (pop. 25,500) 79 km away, Nantou City (pop. 105,700) 81 km away, Taichung (pop. 1,040,700) 84 km away, Yuanlin (pop. 124,700) 90 km away, and Douliu (pop. 104,700) 95 km away.
