An hour ago a 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck San Bernardino County, 8.8 mi northeast of Ridgecrest, Kern County, California, USA at a shallow depth of 5.9km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might revised later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their report.

Towns or cities that might have felt a weak shaking include Ridgecrest (pop. 28,800) located 9 miles from the epicenter, and Searles Valley (pop. 1,700) 9 miles away, China Lake Acres (pop. 1,900) located 13 miles from the epicenter, and Magnolia (pop. 1,100) 16 miles away.
