According to state-broadcaster CCTV a hotel building in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, near Shanghai in East China has collapsed in killing one and injuring ten people.
A search and rescue team managed to pull seven survivors under the rubble of the budget Siji Kaiyuan hotel. The operation is still underway.
The Siji Kaiyuan hotel opened its doors in 2018 and had 54 guest rooms along with conference rooms and a banquet hall.
Unfortunately accidents of this sort is not rare in China due to lax construction standards or else due to corruption. More details to follow.
