Minutes ago USGS recorded a 3.8-magnitude earthquake 39 miles southeast of South Lake Tahoe, El Dorado County, California at a shallow depth of 3.2km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quakes might revised later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their report.
Based on preliminary data it is believed that the earthquake did not cause any significant damage to the infrastructure. Towns or cities that might have felt a weak shaking include Walker, 1km far away from the epicenter, Topaz Ranch Estates, 24km away from the epicenter and Smith Valley, 31km far away.
