A 6.1-magnitude earthquake strikes Peru.

Minutes ago, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that a 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck Peru-Ecuador Border Region at a shallow depth of 10km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might revised later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their report.
Several towns or cities located close to the epicenter felt the strong earthquake. These include the town of Cerezal, Sullana, Marcavelica, Querecotillo, San Martin, Piura, Catacaos, Tambo Grande (Piura) and La Union (Piura). More details to follow.
