A 4.0-magnitude earthquake strikes Innsbruck, Austria.

An hour ago the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a 4.0- magnitude earthquake in Politischer Bezirk Kitzbühel, 52 km east of Innsbruck, Tyrol, Austria at a shallow depth of 6km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.

Weak shaking was felt in Schachnern (pop. 76) located 1 km from the epicenter,
Bad Gastein (pop. 4,000) located 21 km from the epicenter, Lienz (pop. 11,600) 23 km away, Matrei in Osttirol (pop. 2,500) 27 km away, Kaprun (pop. 3,200) 30 km away, Zell am See (pop. 7,600) 34 km away, Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer (pop. 8,700) 45 km away, and Spittal an der Drau (pop. 12,900) 52 km away.
