On Tuesday, during a training flight at the Kubinka air base to test the new Russian military transport plane, the IL-112V light transport aircraft, the plane caught fire and than crashed moments after. All three crew members lost their lives.

The IL- 112V military transport plane is the first transport plane developed from scratch in the post-Soviet period. Development of the plane has been ongoing since 2014 at the Ilyushin Aircraft Company. The transport plane is meant to replace the An-26 and An-24 turbo-prop planes. 

A bystander filmed the whole accident, and he as well as other witnesses blame the fire as the cause of the accident. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash. More details to follow.
