Moments ago the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a 6.1-magnitude earthquake in Bering Sea, 113 mi southwest of adak alaska, Aleutians West, Alaska, USA, at a depth of 39.6km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.
The earthquake struck in a very remote area and was therefore most likelybfelt by very few people. Weak shaking was likely felt in the towns of Adak Alaska and Atka.
