On Sunday morning a massive blaze engulfed a three-storey abandoned building in 2800 block of May Street in Walnut Hills. The fire is believed to have started at around 2am, when the firefighters were called in to a one-alarm fire at the building. The abandoned house was built since the early 1900 and is believed to have been vacant for a number of years.

The fire, was at times, so massive that drivers on I-71 could see it from the highway. The District Chief Lou Arnold said that a total of 45 firefighters worked tirelessly to extinguish the fire. Since it is an old building, they had to extinguish the fire in a different way, according to the district chief.

We shut down all the lines to let it burn through the roof because we had limited access. We only had access to the front of the building. The other three sides were not available to us.
