In Berlin, more than 370,000 households ended up without heating and hot water supply after a malfunction in the Klingenberg thermal power plant.
There were different statements regarding the number of households affected. The district office of Klingenberg puts it at 370,000, while Vattenfall, the operator of the heating network released a statement that only 90,000 households have been affected.
A Vattenfall spokesman said that a malfunction in the external power grid led to a failure of the heating power plant at 2:04pm, forcing them to shut down the power plant and start it up again. The heat supply is expected to be back by today evening.
