Local sources revealed that a LifeNet Medevac helicopter crashed near a church in Upper Darby, Philadelphia just before 1pm on Tuesday. The helicopter was traveling from WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. There were three crew members and an infant on board the Medevac. All were rushed to Lankenau Medical Center, while the infant was taken to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
No reports were received of any injuries on the ground. The Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy M. Bernhardt described it as a ‘miracle’ that there were only injuries. A witness said that the helicopter crashed while it was landing when for some reason it bounced up and landed on its side.
