A 6.2-magnitude earthquake strikes Peru.

The German Research Centre for Geosciences reported a 6.2-magnitude earthquake 57km north of Barranca, Datem del Marañon, Loreto, Peru at a shallow depth of 10km minutes ago.
Since it just have occurred and reported the exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.
It is believed that the strong earthquake was felt by a lot of people living in towns or cities located close to the epicenter.
