Minutes ago, a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Abra Pampa, Departamento de Cochinoca, Jujuy, Argentina at a depth of 242.3km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.
Towns or cities that felt the strong earthquake include Abra Pampa (pop. 9,400) located 62 km from the epicenter, Aguilar (pop. 3,700) 84 km away, La Quiaca (pop. 14,800) 100 km away, and Villazon (pop. 30,300) 101 km away.
