Moments ago, a 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck 6.6 km south of Medellin, Antioquia, Colombia at a shallow depth of 10km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.
The earthquake was felt in Santa Rosa del Sur (pop. 8,900) located 27 km from the epicenter, San Carlos (pop. 22,700) 56 km away, El Bagre (pop. 40,800) 65 km away, and Morales (pop. 20,400) 65 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
