Minutes ago the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that a 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck Qinghai, 145 km south of Laojunmiao, Gansu, China at a shallow depth of 10km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.
The earthquake was felt in towns or cities located close to the epicenter. Weak shaking was felt in Laojunmiao, Jiayuguan City, Suzhau, Zhangye and Xining.
