Explosion in an oil refinery in Turkey.

On Friday, local media reported that an explosion occured in an oil refinery located in Kocaeli province, northwest Turkey. It is about 100km far away from Istanbul. A fire broke out soon after the explosion but was immediately extinguished.
Ihlas news agency reported that the explosion occurred at the Turkish Petroleum Refineries Corporation (TUPRAS) and four workers were injured. The refinery in this province refines around 11.3 million tonnes of crude oil and accounts around 33% for Turkey’s oil needs.
It is not yet known what caused the explosion, but an investigation is underway.
