Nearly an hour ago a strong 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck the Philippine Sea, 89 km east of Mati, Province of Davao Oriental, Philippines at a depth of 17km. The country has been hit by several earthquakes recently. Just 16 hours ago the Manay was hit by a 6.1-magnitude earthquake.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might still be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.
Towns or cities close to the epicenter of the quake that might have felt moderate shaking include Santiago, Manay, San Ignacio, Central, Mati, Compostela, Magugpo Poblacion, Bislijg City and Panabo.
