4.7-magnitude earthquake in France.

A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck 28 km west of Valencia, Drôme, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France at 8.16am local time. It struck at a shallow depth of 12km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might still be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.

It was felt as weak shaking in Lamastre (pop. 2,700) located 11 km from the epicenter,
Bourg-lès-Valence (pop. 19,800) located 27 km from the epicenter, Valencia (pop. 63,900) 28 km away, Annonay (pop. 18,400) 40 km away, Montelimar (pop. 35,600) 40 km away, Romans-sur-Isère (pop. 35,000) 44 km away, and St Étienne (pop. 176,300) 62 km away.
