Huge explosion in Tokyo.

On Tuesday morning at 10am a huge explosion has taken place in a chemical warehouse after a fire in a sodium hydroxide factory in Tachibana, Sumida Ward, Tokyo. The factory is situated in a residential neighbourhood.

The Tokyo Fire Department dispatched 35 fire engines to the area. It was reported that at one point the fire grew to 500 square metres. It is not known whether there were injuries or casaulties. The site is only 2.1km from the Oshiage Station operated by Tokyo metro.
