Just moments ago a 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck 101km South of David, Chiriqui, Panama at a depth of 10km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
The earthquake was felt as moderate shaking in Boca Chica (pop. 220) located 73 km from the epicenter, Pedregal (pop. 17,400) 90 km away, Chiriqui (pop. 2,400) 91 km away, Las Lomas (pop. 11,700) 95 km away, David (pop. 82,000) 96 km away, Puerto Armuelles (pop. 11,700) 98 km away, and San Pablo Viejo Abajo (pop. 6,000) 100 km away. In Concepcion (pop. 17,700) located 110 km from the epicenter, and Santiago (pop. 45,400) 159 km away. The risk of tsunami has been excluded.
