It is likely that the real count of US infections is ten times higher, according to CDC.

CDC director Robert Redfield admitted last Tuesday that the real total number of coronavirus cases might actually be much higher, around 10 times higher than the current count.
The director told reporters that more young people are being tested positive than in previous months.
A study carried out in the Journal Science found that around 8.7 million in the US might have had the coronavirus between 8 to 28th March. This shows that a lot have been undiagnosed since only 100,000 cased where actually reported.
The number of US cases on the increase, with Thursday breaking a record, when around 39,818 cases have been reported. This is the largest number of cases found in a single day since the pandemic started.
