Chinese troops withdrawing from its contested border with India

Chinese troops started pulling back troops by atleast a km, dismantling tents and structures,that it had build in the past weeks, in the Galwan valley.

Chinese military vehicles were seen withdrawing from the area, where a few weeks ago, both nuclear nations clashed. In the border clash, no weapons were used due to a ban imposed decades ago. Still, 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives, and around 76 were injured in a brutal hand to hand fighting. China did not report its casaulties.

The Chinese foreign minister, Zhao Lijian said, ‘We hope India will meet China halfway and take concrete measures to carry out what both sides agreed to, continue to closely communicate through diplomatic and military channels, and work together to cool down the situation at the border.’
