The outbreak in Victoria prompted officials to seal off Victoria in an attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus.
This is the first time since the pandemic began, that the border between Victoria and New South Wales have been sealed off. The border will be closed overnight on Tuesday, for an indefinite period.
‘This is one of those precautionary measures- it is one of those things that I think will help us in broader terms contain the spread of the virus,’ Daniel Andrews said.
The state of Victoria, home to 6.6 million people, reported 127 new cases over the past 24 hours.

Police will use drones and other surveillance equipment to monitor the border between the two states. Anyone caught violating the orders, may face jail for up to 6 months, and large fines.
