The first results of Oxford University’s vaccine trial will be released today.

The first results of the effectiveness of the vaccine will be released later on today, by Oxford University. The vaccine has been developed in collaboration with AstraZeneca.

The results that will be published today, will show the initial findings of its phase one testing. During this phase, the vaccine is tested whether it is safe to use, and whether it can trigger the immune system. The results will be published in The Lancet Medical Journal.

Other vaccines showing promise are United States Moderna Inc. vaccine, which is in its third and final phase. The vaccine has shown to trigger the production of antibodies in patients, that can neutralize the coronavirus with minor side effects. Moderna will start its phase three study on July 27th on 30,000 patients.

Russia has also fast tracked a vaccine, after it showed satisfactory results. A Russian military hospital reported that 18 volunteers, that were kept for a month under observation, have been released.In India, Covaxin vaccine trials began in 2 hospitals. The vaccine has been developed by Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech in collaboration with Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR). Trails of this vaccine began on 17th July.

China’s Sinovac Biotech started its phase three trials in Brazil. Brazilian regulators gave approval to the Chinese company to fast track the vaccine. The Chinese company is working in collaboration with Brazilian vaccine producer the Instituto Butantan.
