An Al-Arabiya correspondent revealed that the terrorist group Asaib Ahl al-Haq, which is believed to be sponsored by Iran, has the intention of mobilizing its soldiers in an attempt to surround a sensitive security headquarters in Baghdad. It is attempting to free one of the detainees responsible for the attack on the US embassy and the Green Zone back in December 20. This prompted Iraqi security forces to be deployed to the Al-Muthanna Bridge in Baghdad.

The detainee is under investigation and during his interrogation he revealed important confessions which may reveal other names among the Al-Asaib militia which were involved in the attack. The detainee is believed to be the leader of Asa’ib Husam Al-Zirjawi from Sadr city. Al-Arabiya confirmed that Iraq security forces arrested six other Asaib militia members believed to have been involved in the attack.

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi tweeted that he assures that Iraq will remain secure from these attacks and they will work to ‘restore the confidence of the people, the security services and the army’.
