Top ISIS leader killed in Iraq.

The top leader of the terrorist group, Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) , Abu Yasir al-Issawi, has been killed in Iraq by an airstrike in a joint US- Iraqi operation. The killing occurred in the city of Kirkuk, where ISIS militants have a strong presence. The goal was to curb the resurgence of the terrorist group after recently it became more active. Last week ISIS carried out a double suicide bombing in Baghdad killing 32 people and injuring hundreds.
The terrorist leader was responsible in relaying guidance to ISIS fighters, and expanding the group’s influence in Iraq. Nine other terrorist were also killed in the operation. Colonel Wayne Marotto, the coalition spokesman said that the killing of Al-Issawi is huge blow to the terrorist group, and will exact revenge on the double suicide bombing last week.
The Prime Minister of Iraq, Mustafa al-Kadhimi, tweeted,
We promised and fulfilled. I gave my word to pursue Daesh terrorists, we gave them a thundering response.

An Iraqi military statement revealed that in addition to the airstrike that killed their leader, several raids in ISIS guesthouses were also conducted by Iraqi counterterrorism forces.
