An explosion in a mosque located in the outskirts of Kabul during Friday’s prayers killed 12 people and injured 15 others. The worshippers gathered for the feast of Eid al-Fitr in a supposedly ceasefire.
The Taliban denied any involvement and condemned the attack. The Taliban were behind the three-day ceasefire gor the holiday. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack but recently, ISIS have increased their attacks in Kabul. Just six days ago, Kabul faced a horrific terror attack on a school which left more than 60 people dead.
A spokesman for the Kabul police, Ferdous Faramarz said that the Imam is among the twelve dead. European Union’s mission in Afghanistan tweeted,
Today’s attack on a mosque in Shakar Dara district of Kabul during Friday prayer is completely opposing the idea of Eid al-Fitr as a family holiday celebrated in peace.
