A 6.0-magnitude earthquake strikes Indonesia

An hour ago, a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck Banda Sea 73km East of Amahai, Maluku, Indonesia at a depth of 10km, 13:41 local time. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported the quake at magnitude 5.9.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the earthquake might be revised in the next few hours as seismologists review their data. Based on preliminary data it is believed that the earthquake may have caused some damage. Initially there was no tsunami alert but after revision of their data BKMG said that a tsunami can be triggered due to underwater landslides. They suggested individuals to get into higher ground.
