Explosion in Kentucky, USA.

On Wednesday afternoon, there were multiple reports of a nitrogen explosion at the Dippin’ Dots facility in Paducah, Kentucky. Ten people were injured in the accident, but they all managed to get out of the building on their own but were still taken to hospital.

At this moment, our focus is on the well-being of our fellow employees who were injured.

Company statement

Ambulances and fireengines rushed to the site. It is not yet known what led to the explosion, but at the moment of the accident liquid nitrogen was being unloaded at the plant on Industrial Drive. They use liquid nitrogen to freeze the ice cream into dots.

A maintenance worker that was at the site of the explosion moments before the accident said:

I was in there walking in the production room, and all of a sudden, there was a loud boom. Then, I’m on the ground.
