Typhoon In-Fa makes landfall in Eastern China.

The Typhoon In-FA,the 7th tropical cyclone of the 2021 Pacific typhoon season, is currently battering with high winds and heavy raining as it recently passed Taiwan. Sustained winds of 155km (95 miles) per hour with gusts up to 191km/h (120 mph) have been recorded. The Shangai government stopped all flights in two international airports, Shanghai Pudong and Shanghai Hongqiao airports and also banned all outdoor activities.
In the Putuo district of the city of Zhoushan, a huge port in the eastern eastern province of Zhejiang the typhoon hit on Sunday at 12.30pm. The typhoon hit while the country is still recovering from the deadly floods that took the lives of 58 people and created alot of damage in central China.

Flooding is expected in all of Eastern China as between 500 to 800 mm of rain has been forecasted to hit the region as the typhoon tracks across the Zhejiang province. This amount of rain in a matter of few days will be catastrophic for the region. To put this number into perspective, the annual precipitation in Shanghai is 1200 mm (about 47 inches).

Train service to the port of Ningbo south of Shanghai, was also suspended and large container ships were moved from Yangshan Port in Shanghai. Schools, markets and businesses in Zhejiang province were all closed down since Saturday.
