Local authorities issued a toxic smoke warning near Geelong as firefighters are tackling the blaze at the largest Tesla battery site in Moorabool, Victoria, Australia. A spokesman for the fire rescue Victoria said:
The 13-tonne lithium battery is located within a shipping container and fully involved. Crews are working to contain the fire and stop it spreading to nearby batteries.

The fire broke out on one of the 300-megawatt (450MWh) battery, and firefighters are making sure to prevent the fire from spreading to other batteries.
The site started construction in late 2020 by the renewable energy firm Neoen which used Tesla hardware and equipment. The cost of the project was more than $160 million. The Victorian State government paid for the cost.
