A strong 5.2-magnitude earthquake strikes Venezuela.

The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that four hours ago a 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck 7.5 km northwest of Araure, Portuguesa, Venezuela at a shallow depth of 10km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.
Towns or cities that might have felt a weak shaking include Acarigua (pop. 143,700) located 13 km from the epicenter, Turen (pop. 28,000) 37 km away, and Quibor (pop. 41,500) 50 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Guanare (pop. 112,300) located 80 km from the epicenter.
