Iran will be holding the largest military exercise in two decades close to the Azerbaijani border. The military exercise known as ‘Conquerors of Khaybar’ will feature a huge number of armoured units, artillery, UAVs, attack helicopters and radar systems.

The military exercise which is expected to start on Friday, is in response to Israeli’s presence and alliance with Azerbaijan. It is believed that Azerbaijan’s alliance with Israel has allowed to receive high-tech weapons that is believed to have won them the war against Armenia last year.

Last Tuesday, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesmen Saeed Khatibzadeh defended the right to carry out a military exercise close to Azerbaijan’s border, after Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister Ilham Aliyev expressed concern over Iranian’s army close proximity to the border.

It’s clear that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not tolerate the presence of the Zionist regime near its borders and in this respect it will implement any action it deems necessary for its national security.

Weeks ago Azerbaijan started imposing a ‘road tax’ to all Iranian trucks shipping fuel or other goods to Armenia. A number of Iranian truck drivers were also arrested.
