A loud explosion was reported on Fox Island in the Great South Bay at around 11am. Suffolk arson detectives have gone to Fox Island to investigate the cause of the explosion.

Pictures obtained from News12 shows a plume of smoke emanating from Fox Island following the loud explosion. Some believe it was a boat explosion.
