Amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine, China decided to hold a military exercise in the South China Sea between this Sunday and Tuesday. Taiwan is on edge regarding this military exercise.

Recently, a US warship passed through the Taiwan strait which separates China from Taiwan. The US Navy’s 7th Fleet said that Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson was conducting what is considered to be routine patrol through international waters. This prompted an angry reaction, where they considered the passge of the US warship as provocative.

The military exercise that will start tomorrow, will be conducted across a 6-nautical radius. It is not yet known how many military vessels will participate but unfortunately, this could be the preparation for an invasion of Taiwan.

More details to follow.
