Several people killed in a Russian mine.

Russian news agencies reported that on Saturday an explosion occured at the Gaisky ore mining and processing plant in Russia’s Orenburg region at a depth of 1.2km. The explosion killed 14 workers, while 88 others survived and were evacuated.
According to preliminary data, today, at around 08:50, during mining and blasting, an explosive detonation occurred at a depth of 1.2 km. 88 workers were evacuated. Three people died.

Gaisky ore mining and processing plant mines copper and zinc. The plant is considered to be the largest Russian copper mine. It is owned by the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company Holding located close to the Russian’s border with Kazakhstan.
