The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced yesterday that Turkish police and the intelligence agency MIT managed to capture the senior ISIS operative, Bashar Hattab Ghazal Al Sumaidai also known as Abu Zeyd. The Turkish President announced the capture on Thursday after his return from a three day tour of Balkan countries.

The militant was captured at one point during his plan to enter Turkey illegally. Turkish intelligence was monitoring his connections in Syria and Turkey. The Turkish President did not reveal when he was captured. After an interogation of the terrorist, he was than handed to judicial authorities.
