Explosion in a gas pipeline between Latvia and Lithuania.

Lithuania’s public broadcaster have reported that an explosion struck a gas pipeline between Lithuania and Latvia. The explosion caused a 50 metre long flame. The explosion struck in the Amber Grid gas main pipeline, Pasvaslis district, northern Lithuania. Rescue services have rushed to the scene. No casualties have been reported.
It is yet unknown what caused the explosion, but Pasvalys District Mayor Gintautas Gegužinskas said on LRT video that unexpected sounds similar to low-flying planes were heard in the area. A spokesperson for Amber Grid said that they are currently invetigating the cause of the explosion.
According to Baltic news agency, a village nearby is being prepared to be evacuated by the police.
Update: Amber Grid reported that it was not an attack, but an accident.
