Malaysia records a spike in cases

On Friday, the Malaysian authorities reported a surge in cases when 182 new COVID-19 cases were detected. It is the highest daily number of cases since June 4th. Yesterday, 45 cases were reported. No deaths were recorded today, making it the 10th day without deaths.
The Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham said ‘From the 181 local transmissions, 90 are Malaysians. The single imported case involved a non-Malaysian.’
There are currently 9 patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Five are using the ventilators. The total number of cases in Malaysia since the pandemic began is 9,810, while the number of deaths is 128.
