Qatar reports 227 new coronavirus cases.

On Wednesday, Qatari’s Health Ministry reported 227 new coronavirus cases. All new COVID-19 patients were placed in isolation, and transferred to a hospital according to their health status. Two patients were transferred to the intensive care unit due to health complications.
Qatar has successfully contained the spread of the virus, thanks to several measures that the authorities took early on. They also have a young population, and introduced proactive testing. Qatar also has strict quarantine rules for all travellers that arrive in the country. These include residents and visa holders, and will have to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. Recently, it has been announced that this strict travel quarantine rule will be extended to December 31.
As of Wednesday, Qatar reported 133,143 cases and 232 deaths since the pandemic began.
