Five million Israelis have been vaccinated.

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu announced that 5 million people have been vaccinated, out of a population of 9.3 million, and the entire over-16 population will be vaccinated by the end of April for COVID-19. Israel is vaccinating its public at an unprecedented rate, and in fact is considered as a model country for the coronavirus vaccination campaign. No country has managed to vaccinate as fast as Israel.
The five millionth Israeli to be vaccinated using the Pfizer/BioNtech dose was a pregnant woman. Pregnant women have been urged to be vaccinated as several expectant mothers lost their lives due to COVID-19.
The Prime Minister said that the country has been working to get millions more of vaccine doses to meet the target of vaccinating the whole of over -16 population by end of April. This will help to avoid any more lockdowns and keeping the economy open, according to the PM Benjamin Netanyahu. The PM also said that when the whole population is vaccinated against the coronavirus, Israel will be ‘out of the coronavirus’ pandemic. He also said that what Israel achieved is a ‘World achievement’.

Kudos to the citizens of Israel who reached five million vaccinated people. We can now open up nearly everything, the economy, culture, sport, leisure, tourism.

Since the pandemic began Israel reported 803,260 cases and 5,899 deaths. Out of the 5 million people vaccinated, 3,789,118 have received the second dose.
