On Saturday afternoon, an explosion was heard in the city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This came hours after authorities confirmed an attempted attack on the port of Jeddah in the morning by the Yemeni’s military. The Defense Ministry said that the air raid carried out by Yemeni’s Houthi forces was intercepted by anti-air missile systems.

Some sources reported that Jeddah airport stopped some flights from landing in the airport as a precautionary measure. Saudi Arabia and Yemen have been in a war since the ousting of the President of Yemen back in 2014 by the Houthis. The latter rebel group captured most of the country, and after the arrival of the Prime Minister and President in Saudi Arabia, Riyadh started a devastating military campaign against Yemen.
