US 7th fleet Japanese-based carrier, USS Ronald Reagan is heading to southwest of South China Sea close to Vietnam, three days after entry into the South China Sea, and after leaving Japanese port of Yokosuka on patrol May 19th.

While in the South China Sea, the carrier-led strike group is conducting maritime security operations. These include flight operations with rotary and fixed wing aircraft, maritime strike exercises, and also coordinated tactical training between surface and air units.
