Ferry with 57 people on board sinks in the waters of Bali.

The ferry, KMP Yunice capsized and sank with 57 people on board during rough seas in the port of Gilimanuk waters, Bali island, Indonesia, at around 19:12 local time on Tuesday..

KMP Yunice sank 30 minutes after it left the East Java’s Ketapang port on Tuesday, Bali Search and Rescue Agency chief Gede Darmada said. It was headed to Bali’s Gilimanuk port, a 50-kilometre trip with 42 passengers and 12 crew, when it faced rough seas.

The search and rescue team which continued its search operation during the night amid four-metre waves, managed to rescue 44 people, mostly unconscious after being in choppy waters for hours. Unfortunately, six people were found dead and several more missing.
