Early on Wednesday morning, an explosion and a subsequent fire occured at a structure which is currently under renovation on Syngrou Avenue near the Temple of Olympian Zeus. Several nearby buildings were also damaged.

Local officials revealed that one person was seriously injured in the explosion and was rushed to the hospital. A fire brigade official said that the cause of the explosion has not yet been established.

We have a fire, there was a blast before that. We don’t know what caused it yet, there is extended material damage, and a fire started.
