It has been found that Pakistan is willing to offer economic help to aid Russia to alleviate some of the hard-hitting sanctions on the Russian economy as a result of it invading Ukraine. The Pakistani government aims to help Russia by offering to buy two million tons of wheat and also by buying their natural gas. He defended his decision by saying:

Pakistan has so far to comment on the Russian aggression, and last week Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan went to Moscow to meet President Vladimir Putin, on the same day Russia invaded Ukraine.

We went there because we have to import 2 million tons of wheat from Russia. Secondly, we have signed agreements with them to import natural gas because Pakistan’s own gas reserves are depleting.

Top diplomats of 22 countries, including European Union member states have been urging Pakistan to condemn Russian aggression to support a resolution in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), but now it is clear with whom Pakistan is siding.
